‘JMB leader’ held in Dhaka City

Dhaka, Dec 23 – Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU), a specialized wing of Bangladesh Police, arrested an alleged leader of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from near Jamuna Future Park in the city on Wednesday.

The arrestee was identified as Md Faisal Khan alias Kanchan alias Fahim, 34, son of late Akram Hossain of Uttar Basidevpur under Hakimpur police station in Dinajpur district.
The ATU unit said Faisal was an in-charge of Liaison wing of the banned outfit.
Tipped off, a special team of the ATU conducted a drive in the area around 8:30 pm and arrested the JMB leader, said Md Aslam Khan, SP (Media) of the ATU headquarters.
Two mobile phone sets and two photocopies of NID were recovered from his possessions.
Faisal Khan along with some of his associates was trying to hold a secret meeting, he said. – UNB
