Karwan Bazar wholesale market to be sifted: Annisul

Dhaka – Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Huq expressed his hope that present Karwan Bazar whole sale market will be shifted to Jatrabari and Gabtoli within several months. The DNCC Mayor came up with the remark while talking reporters near Hasina Market, which was almost fully burnt due to a devastating fire on Sunday night. At least 178 various types of whole shops were gutted in the fire incident that started at around 7:55 pm on Sunday evening and it was under control after two hours frantic effort as  26 fire fighter units from various fire stations went to the spot phases.
Annisul Huq went to the spot and help the fire fighters giving various advices to under control the fire.
Talking to reporters on the spot, the DNCC mayor said around   186 shos were given permanent allotment in the market. Besides, there was more temporary shops in the market, he added.
We have been negotiating with the traders of Karwan Bazar areas to shift the market in two other places from here for last eight months. There is a positive outcome of the negotiations, he said.
“ We have two ready markets—one in Jatrabari and another in Jatrabari. We hope we will able to shift the market to two markets which are ready within next several months,” the Mayor Annisul Huq said. – News Desk
