Khaleda to surrender before court Thursday

Dhaka – BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will surrender before a Dhaka court in two cases: the Zia Orphanage Trust and the Zia Charitable Trust graft cases on Thursday.The BNP leader Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Sanaullah Mia confirmed the news on Wednesday evening. He said BNP Chief was abroad for her treatment and she returned home on Wednesday afternoon.
Arrest warrants were issued in these two cases due to her absence. Now she will surrender before the court and seek bails on Thursday. Hope, the court will grant her bail petitions, Advocate Sanaullah said. Begum Khaleda Zia will seek a chance for self-defence in the cases on the occasion, he added.
The cases are under trial before Dhaka's makeshift Special Judge Court-5 set up at Bakshibazar of the old city.
The court issued arrest warrants against former premier Khaleda Zia cancelling her bails in the cases on October 12. – Special Correspondent
