Kurigram rail link snaps as pickets remove fishplate in Rangpur

Train communications on Rangpur-Kurigram route remained suspended as the engine and two bogies of an inspection train derailed early Sunday when the hartal pickets removed fishplates of the rail track near Annadanagar station in Pirgachha upazila.

Witnesses said the engine and two bogies of an Advance Loco Pilot System (ALPS) train veered off the tracks at 4:30 am, halting train services on the Rangpur-Kurigram route.
