Late Sridevi’s Mom to release in China on Mother’s Day

Sridevi’s last movie, Mom, was not only critically acclaimed but also a commercial success. Now the makers of the film, Zee Studios, have decided to release it on the occasion of Mother’s Day in China on May 10, 2019. The movie was earlier scheduled to release on March 22 in China. Ravi Udyawar directed Mom is about how a girl’s life changes when she is brutally gang-raped by a group of bratty rich students from her school and two of their house helps. Her stepmother, played by Sridevi, seeks justice and takes the help of a detective to teach the perpetrators a lesson.
Talking about the film’s release in China, Vibha Chopra, Head – Zee Studios International said, “We wanted to pick the perfect date for the release of such a special film like Mom in China, which is a huge market, and has great potential for the film to do well. As a tribute to all mothers, we have chosen May 10 to release this riveting film in China.”
The late Sridevi won the National Award for Best Actress for Mom. Recently, the legendary superstar was awarded with the Lifetime Achievement at the 64th Vimal Elaichi Filmfare Awards.
