List made of 1500 infiltrators in Awami League

Dhaka, 01 Nov -Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader yesterday said their party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has made a list of 1.5 thousand infiltrators in her party. “Our party chief has made a list of intruders in Awami League under her own supervision. There are fifteen hundred infiltrators in her list,” he said.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister came up with the announcement while talking to reporters in Gazipur after visiting an under-construction flyover at Shafipur on Dhaka-Tangail highway.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent the list to her party office. And now the list will be sent to the party leaders who were earlier given responsibilities of eight divisions so that they can sort out fresh leadership for the party in the coming council session,” he said.
The AL general secretary said they are alert so that infiltrators and controversial people cannot get any post in the party through the upcoming council sessions of different units of the party.
However, the party central leaders are working hard to complete pending council sessions of its district, Upazila and thana units, ahead of the party’s 21st national council session, scheduled to be held on December 20-21.
“Those who have a clean image, who have a good personality and acceptable to all, will get party positions in the upcoming council. On the other hand, those who are corrupt, infiltrators, land grabbers, drug peddlers will be removed from the party,” he said.
Besides, the Bridges Minister also spoke over the much talked about Road Transport Act, he said has been enacted aiming to bring discipline on roads and highways of the country.
“Our main target is to bring discipline on roads…it’s our challenge, and the Road Transport Act has been enacted to this end,” he said.
