Logo, Mascot of 8th Bangladesh Games unveiled

The logo and mascot of the multi-sports 8th Bangladesh Games, to be held in 21 venues of the capital and adjoining areas from April 20-28, were ceremonially unveiled today (Sunday) at the NSC Tower Auditorium in the city.However, the T20 cricket matches will be held at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra and Rangpur Cricket Garden.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Mohammad Ahad Ali Sarker unveiled the logo and mascot of the games by pressing the switch from digital board in presence of enthusiastic sportsmen, organizers and sports lovers.
Some 6,855 sportsmen will compete in 356 events of 31 disciplines of sports for 2266 medals, including 705 gold, at stake in the 8th version of the Bangladesh Games, arranged after a long gap of 11 years since the last Games was held in 2002.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing committee on Youth and Sports Ministry Zahid Ahsan Russell MP, Information Secretary and Chairman of the Media Committee Hedayetullah Al Mamun and Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) acting Secretary General Ashiqur Rahman Miku also spoke on the occasion.
Youth and Sports Secretary Noor Mohammad, Chairman of the Games Steering Committee and BOA Vice President Harun-ur Rashid and Member Secretary Media Committee Asaduzzaman Kohinoor were also present.
Member Secretary of the Ceremonies Committee Lt Col M Kamrul Hasan gave a video presentation on the Games logo, mascot, a vibrant squirrel, and theme song at the function.
