Mahmudullah, Ayub slams tons as Sheikh Jamal win big in DPL

DHAKA- Brilliant centuries by skipper Mahmudullah and all rounder Marshall Ayub powers of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to record an over whelming 90-run victory over Cricket Coaching School (CCS) in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Tuesday at the BKSP ground in Savar.Chasing a monumental target of 291 runs set by Sheikh Jamal, CCS found the chase very stiff losing wickets at regular intervals and finally to be dismissed at 200 in 48.3 overs.The notable scorers for the vanquished were skipper Rajin Saleh with 51 and Saif Hasan with 47 runs who saw their efforts go in vain as none of the other CCS batsman failed to provide them ample support needed to build an effective partnership to stretch their innings during their big run chase.Mendis, Shafiul, Gazi and Muktar all chipped in with two wickets apiece for Sheikh Jamal. Earlier, put to bat first by CCS, Sheikh Jamal, rode on National star Mahmudullah Riyad who scored a scintillating 130 runs off 139 balls and Marshall Ayub too was very impressive with an excellent 103 off 115-ball. These tons allowed then to amass a challenging total of 290 for 5 from their allotted 50 overs.Mehrab Hossain was the pick of CCS bowler as he grabbed three wickets conceding 45 runs. He was well supported by Saleh Ahmed Shawon who claimed two wickets giving away 38 runs.Mahmudullah of Sheikh Jamal was named the player of the match for leading from the front with an impressive hundred in the match.(BSS)
