Mahmudullah tunes up his bat in 2nd practice match

Dhaka — Mahmudullah Riyad tuned up his bat ahead of the next month’s India tour making a half century (81 off 51 with eight fours and two sixes) in the second inter-squad practice game on Monday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

BCB Red team batted first in the match and posted 141 runs for 6 in 20 overs. In reply, BCB Green team posted 130 for seven in 20 overs to lose the match by 11 runs.

Mahmudullah displayed his brilliance with the bat, Soumya Sarkar and Liton Das continued their bad form as they scored five and two runs only. Afif Hossain posted 28 off 27 and remained unbeaten.

Ebadat Hossain bagged three wickets conceding 31 runs in four overs spell for BCB Green.In reply, BCB Green ended on 130 for seven in 20 overs. Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored 34 while Imrul Kayes posted 32 and Yasir Ali Rabbi scored 22.

Mustafizur Rahman, Afif Hossain and Abu Hider Rony scalped two wickets each for BCB Red team.Earlier in the first game on Sunday, BCB Red suffered 50- run defeat against Green team. Most of the big guns were failed in that game.

Bangladesh will play a three-match T20 series against India from November 3 before heading to a two-match Test series. The first Test will be played in Indore from November 14 while the second Test will be hosted by Kolkata from November 22.UNB
