Man killed for protesting daughter’s harassment

Benapole, Jessore, Nov 22 – A man was killed on Friday allegedly by a stalker for protesting against his daughter’s harassment in Upashahar Para area of Jessore city. The deceased was identified as Abdur Razzak, 52, a tea seller of the area.
Md Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said Hossain Ali, 30, a trader of the area, used to stalk Razzak’s daughter.
At one stage, he captured some indecent images of the girl and threatened to circulate those on the internet if she does not meet his unethical demand.
Razzak had an altercation with Ali in the morning after the girl informed her parents. Razzak slapped the stalker and Ali kicked him in the chest, injuring him critically.
Locals took him to Jashore General Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Kajal Mollik, a doctor of the hospital, said the man had died before he was brought there.
The cause of death will be revealed after an autopsy, he added.
Police have already arrested the stalker after a case was filed, the OC said. – UNB
