Maritime ports asked to hoist signal no 3

Dhaka – Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no three as the well-marked low over North Bay and adjoining area lies over Northeast Bay and adjoining coastal areas of the country.It is likely to intensify further and move in a north/northeasterly direction further, said a Met office bulletin on Saturday.

Under its influence deep convection is continuing over North Bay and adjoining area. Squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas, it said.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea, it added.UNB
