Mashrafe gives 600 dengue detection kits to hospitals

Narail – Two hospitals in the district received 600 dengue detection kits on Friday personally financed by Narail-2 lawmaker Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. The kits were sent to Deputy Commissioner Anjuman Ara on Thursday on behalf of Mashrafe, one of Bangladesh’s most popular sportspersons.

Ara handed over 300 kits to Narail Sadar Hospital and 300 others to Lohagora Hospital.

Superintendent of Police Md Jasim Uddin, Civil Surgeon Dr Asaduzzaman Tony, and Sadar Municipality Mayor Md Jahangir Biswas were also present.

Anjuman Ara expressed gratitude to Mashrafe and vowed to fight the dengue menace.

SP Jasim Uddin said police have been deployed to ease hazards of dengue patients at Sadar and Lohagara hospitals.

People are panicked as hundreds of dengue cases continue to be reported from across the country every day. According to the government, dengue has claimed at least 14 lives since January but the unofficial death toll is much higher.

When the dengue situation deteriorated, Mashrafe announced to stand by the victims. He asked people to keep their houses and yards clean.

“If you’re suffering from fever, please go to the Narail Sadar Hospital or the Lohagara Upazila Health Complex for tests and treatment,” he said.UNB
