Masjid-e-Nabawi Khatib for Muslim unity against militancy
Dhaka – The Imam and Khatib of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (Prophet’s Mosque) in Madinah in Saudi Arabia Abdulmehsin bin Mohammad Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Qasim has called upon the Muslim Ummah to get united against militancy.
While delivering sermon for Juma prayer at Bangladesh’s national mosque Baitul Mukarram yesterday, he termed the Islam a religion of peace and the highest form of blessings of the Almighty.
The visiting Imam, who led the Juma prayer at Baitul Mukarram, said the bonds of Islam boost the relationship between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.
After Juma prayer, he led munajat seeking unity of the Muslim world and peace and prosperity.
Meanwhile, thousands of Muslim devotees from different parts of the city and adjacent areas offered the Juma prayer conducted by the Imam of of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi at Baitul Mukarram mosque.
The Muslim devotees started gathering in the 8-storeid national mosque from 11:00am when all corners of the mosque building and its premises were full to the brim. The prayer started at 1:30pm.
The devotees were also found offering Juma prayers on the streets at the north, south and east gates of the mosque.
The law enforcers have taken strict security measures during the prayers.
After the prayers, the Imam spent sometime at the Islamic Foundation where eminent ulema and government officials including Minister for Industries Amir Hossain Amu and Director General of foundation Shameem Afzal exchanged greetings and wellbeing.
Vice President of two holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah Dr Mohammad Bin Nasser Bin Mohammad Al Khuzaim, among others, accompanied him.
Earlier on Thursday, the Saudi guests attended a huge rally of ulema-mashyekh at Suhrawardy Udyan to mark the 42th anniversary of Islamic Foundation Bangladesh. – Staff Reporter
