Masud Rana, the fictional super spy of Bangladesh, will be brought to the silver screen from the pages of one of the most famous series of paperbacks.
The budget for making the film will be at tk 83 crores.
The film will be produced by Bangladeshi production house Jaaz Multimedia, along with Hollywood-based production company Silverline, and three others.
The upcoming film will be made in Hollywood, and shot at various locations in Bangladesh, Thailand, and Mauritius. It will be directed by Hollywood-based film director, Asif Akber, who is of Bangladeshi origin.
Many generations of Bangladeshis grew up reading this popular series, which was launched by Sheba Prokashoni in 1966. Jaaz received permission to make films on the widely read Masud Rana series from the author, Qazi Anwar Hussain.
Jaaz Multimedia will make three films, based on the first three books of the series, over the next five years. The books from which the films will be adapted are, Dhongsho-Pahar, Bharatanatyam, and Shwarnomrigha.
The film’s screenplay has been developed by Jazz Multimedia chairman Abdul Aziz, Asif Akber, and contemporary popular thriller writer Nazim-ud-Daula.
The characters of Masud Rana, will be played by Bangladeshi actors. The film will be released in cinemas globally in English, and in Bengali at cinemas in Bangladesh, and Kolkata.
