Ferry services on Mawa-Kawrakandi route, one of the important waterways of the country, were restored at 9am Saturday after a nine-hour disruption due to dense fog.
Five ferries with about 600 passengers and 150 different kinds of vehicles were stuck at Lohajang turning point on the route.Movements of the ferries with goods laden trucks, passenger buses and other transports came to a halt in the Padma river due to poor visibility, BIWTA Assistant Manager Chandra Shekhar Roy said.He said the ferries started operating this morning after disappearance of the fog. -BSS, Munshiganj
