Siddikur well-positioned going into weekend

Dhaka –Bangladesh’s celebrated golfer Siddikur Rahman stayed in the race for the $3 million Maybank Championship moving up to joint 14th from 19th in the 2nd round at Saujana Golf and Country Club, Kuala Lumpur on Friday.Siddikur has carded two identical rounds of 69, leaving him six-under-par overall, six shots behind the leader Bernd Wiesberger (Austria) who traded 12-under-par 132.In the 2nd round, Siddikur traded five birdies and two bogies to score three-under-par 69.He traded five birdies to put the 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 13th and 17th holes while put the 5th and 15th holes taking one over shots for each hole.The only Bangladeshi golfers in the tournament, Siddikur scored three-under-par 69 in the first round.Marc Warren (Scotland) who played nine-under-par 63 in the first round to take the lead, slipped to joint 14th also scored six-under 138 in the cut round.UNB
