Medical equipment suppliers to strike for three days

Dhaka- Medical Equipment suppliers will observe three days’ strike starting from Tuesday demanding a stop to harassment by the Drug Administration.
Bangladesh Medical Association Instruments and Hospital Equipment Dealers and Manufacturers Association announced the programme at a press conference at BMA auditorium in the city on Monday.
Addressing the press conference, General Secretary of the association Habib Jahan said that they will shut down surgical, pathological, scientific and all types of business entities related to medical equipments until harassment by Drug Administration stops.
They also demanded cancellation of the Medical Devices Guideline 2015 as it is the root cause of their harassment.
He said that Drug Administration will have to take responsibility for the sufferings and disruption of the medical service. Our business is going to be destroyed by the harassment of Drug Administration and the National Board of Revenue.
The association organized a press conference on November 28 at DRU on the issue where they gave seven working days’ ultimatum. -UNB
