Miscreants fired gunshots from rear side of the Italian national Cesare Tavella, who was shot dead in Gulshan-2 in the city on Monday evening, while he was walking, says a forensic expert.
Contacted, Head Forensic Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Prof Dr Kazi Md Abu Shama, who conducted postmortem of the killed Italian national at DMCH morgue on Tuesday afternoon, said three bullets were hit on the body of the victim. Two bullets were pierce through the body, while another was found from inside his chest, he added.
Scrutinizing injuries of his body, it seems to me that the perpetrators attacked him from left and rear side while he was walking, Prof Dr Shama said.
Miscreants sprayed bullets targeting Cesare Tavella, 50, Project Manager for PROOFS (Profitable Opportunities for Food Security) of the Netherlands-based non-governmental organisation ‘ICCO Cooperation’, at Road-90 of Gulshan-2, some 500 miters off Gulshan police station around 6:15 pm. He died while being moved to United Hospital.
After completion of his postmortem, the body was kept at the mortuary of DMCH morgue.
