Month-long reading plan at British Council

On the occasion of World Book Day (April 23), a month-long book reading programme began at the British Council on Dhaka’s Fuller Road.With the slogan of ‘buy one book, read one book’ the British Council and Daffodil Education Network jointly organised a rally Saturday morning.
Eminent educationist Abdullah Abu Sayeed declared the month-long programme at the rally.
Dhaka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) president Sabur Khan and British Council Resource Centre Manager Sarwat Masuda Reza were present at the ceremony.
Abdullah Abu Sayeed said that reading books was the only way to be an enlightened person
Detailing the programme Sarwat Masuda Reza said it would include a reading competition.
Students from class six onwards and people of different ages can enrol their names for the competition at the British Council centres in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet.
The winners will be given awards including netbooks.
