Police recovered a mortar shell at Balia village in Hajiganj upazila on Saturday afternoon.
Officer-in-charge of Hajiganj Police Station Shah Alam said local people found the mortar shell in a field in the afternoon and informed police.Later, a police team led by Sub Inspectors Biplob and Shah Alam recovered the live mortar shell around 4pm.Police said the mortar shell weighing about 20 kg was made in 1965 and it might have been kept under the earth during the Liberation War in 1971. -UNB, Chandpur
