Muhith to attend ADB meet in New Delhi

Finance Minister AMA Muhith leaves here for New Delhi on Thursday to attend the 46th annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB)The ADB annual meeting, beginning on Thursday in Greater Noida, Delhi National Capital Region, is expected to see the participation of 67 countries, involving over 4,400 delegates.

Muhith will lead the Bangladesh delegation to the meeting.

This is the third time India is hosting the Annual Meet. The first two were held in 1990 in Delhi and 2006 in Hyderabad.

The theme of this year’s Annual Meet is ‘Empowerment through Development’, providing a platform to discuss how vulnerable groups can be provided with better access to health, education and other social services.

Muhith is also expected to meet Indian Finance Minister P Chidambaram to discuss issues of mutual interest between India and Bangladesh, according an Indian High Commission release.UNB
