Dhaka – The Mujib Borsho Cup Amateur Golf Tournament 2020, organised by Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF), was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Kurmitola Golf Course here.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Hasan Russell MP inaugurated the meet as chief guest. The country’s amateur international golf tournament is scheduled to be held from January 8 to 11.
BGF President Major General M. Enayet Ullah, Senior Vice-President Brigadier General M Tajul lslam Thakur, Secretary General Fariduddin Khan Rumy, Vice President of Tournament organizing committee Brigadier General Abdiur Reza Khan (Retd) and BGF Joint Secretary Lt Col M Abdul Bari (Retd) were also present on the occasion.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal MP will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony on January 11 and later he will distribute the prizes.
A total of 205 golfers — 180 males and 25 females — from Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, Iran, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and hosts Bangladesh participating in the competition.
The Amateur Golf tournament has been named after Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman marking the 100th birth centenary of the Father of the Nation.UNB
