Muktijoddha taste 1st win in 10th BPL

Dhaka – Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra tasted the maiden victory in the 10th Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football as they beat Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society 3-2 in their 2nd match at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.Muktijoddha dominated the first half by 3-1 margin where their Egyptian forward Esian Mohamed Zaki Sarhan scored two and another forward Amzad Ali netted the other.Rahmatganj’s Guinean forward Ismael Bangoura fired the net first in the 15th minute and reduced the gap scoring his 2nd one in the 64th minute.Ismael Bangoura put Rahmatganj ahead by a header from the box utilising a cross off defender Saddam Hossain Anny from the left side, 1-0.Amzad Ali leveled the margin taking a shot from the box to fire the net in the 22nd minute for Muktijoddha, 1-1. Muktijoddha took the lead in the 26th minute as Zaki Sarhan took the opportunity to send the ball home from a goalmouth melee, 2-1. Zaki Sarhan extended the lead in the stopgap time of the first half by a right-footed shot from the box, 3-1.He received a long pass from midfield and went past Rahmatganj’s two defenders before deceiving goalie Razib.Ismael Bangoura headed the ball home from the box utilising a cross from captain Naimur Rahman Shahed to reduce the margin for Rahmatganj, 3-2.Muktijoddha started the 12-team tournament campaign with a 0-3 loss against Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra while Rahmatganj made a flying start with a 4-2 win against Arambagh Krira Sangha.UNB news agency
