Mumbai Mayor Cup Chess: CM Sohel Chy sharing 2nd slot

Dhaka  – Bangladeshi CM Sohel Chowdhury was sharing the 2nd slot with 24 other players in the 11th Mumbai Mayor’s Cup International Chess Tournament securing 2.5 points after the 3rd round matches held in the Indian city of Mumbai on Monday.Four other Bangladeshi players — GM Ziaur Rahman, IM Abu Sufin Shakil, Abzid Rahman and Tipu Sultan have secured two points each.

Anisuzzaman Jewel, Shahnaz Mohammad Faruque and Mohammad Hasan earned 1.5 points each while CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh, Jamal Uddin, Avik Sarker, Tahsin Tajwar Zia, Kazi Mahbub Afzal, Sazzad Kishore, Mezanur Rahman, Arifuzzaman Arif and Feroz Kabir bagged one point each.

In the 3rd round matches on Monday, CM Sohel drew with Ansh M Shah of India, GM Zia beat Sachin Malik of India, IM Shakil beat Afzal, Abzid beat Aryan Ranjan of India, CM Chanchal beat Akmal Hossain Khan, Jewel lost to GM Tukhaev Adam of Ukraine, Hasan lost to GM Neelotpal Das of India, Tahsin lost to GM Pruijssers Roeland of Netherlands, Tipu lost to NeelashSaha of India and Shahnaz lost to Raja Rithvik of India.
