Dhaka – Bangladesh are likely to be without captain Mushfiqur Rahim in the 2nd Test against New Zealand at Christchurch starting on Friday.Mushfiqur, the number one wicketkeeper and also an important batsman for the Tigers, has been advised not to take the field for a couple of weeks as he suffered multiple injuries. Despite his neck scan revealing no damage, he has been kept under observation.According to team physio Dean Conway the thumb injury is more worrying than the blow to the neck he suffered on the fifth day of the first Test, and will need more time to recover.”His finger injury is worse. The hairline crack that has been found is new. He will need to give more time for this injury,” Conway told reporters.”Mushfiqur may need at least three weeks to fully recover from the hit on the neck,” Conway said.Local doctors have reportedly advised him not to take the field for at least a couple of weeks.Wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan will step up and make his Test debut, if Mushfiqur does not return for the last Test of the two-match series, according to ESPN.UNB
