Dhaka – Prime Bank South Zone were trailing by 198 runs with six wickets in hand against BCB North Zone in the first class Bangladesh Cricket League after the 3rd day of the four-day affairs at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.BCB North Zone resumed the first innings with their overnight score of 474 for 7 in 184 overs and later declared the innings at 492 runs for 9 in 189.3 overs on the 3rd day.Neeam Islam, who was in batting with 176 runs, completed his colourful innings scoring 185 runs off 475 balls hitting 13 fours and two sixes before he was clean bowled by spinner Abdur Razzak. Besides, Jahurul Islam (65), Suhrawardy Shuvo (57), Farhad Hossain (43), Ariful Haque (43), Nasir Hossain (39) were the other notable scorers for North Zone.Veteran spinner Abdur Razzak grabbed five wickets for 185 runs while Shohag Gazi took two for 105 runs.In reply, Prime Bank South Zone scored 294 for 4 in 80 overs in the first innings with opener Fazle Mahmud hammering an unbeaten 121 runs off 213 runs featuring 14 fours and two sixes.Besides, two down Tushar Imran (47), opener Shahriar Nafees (42), Mosaddek Hossain (not out 34) and Mohammad Mithun (30) were the other leading scorers for South Zone.Taijul Islam claimed three wickets for 81 runs.UNB
