NCL-Tier-2: Dhaka Metro score 210 for 4 against newly crowned Rajshahi Division

Dhaka – Dhaka Metro scored 210 for 4 in 53 overs against newly crowned Rajshahi Division in the first innings on the first day of the four-day 6th and last Tier-2 match of the Walton Smart Fridge 19th National Cricket League at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi on Wednesday.Sent into bat first in a match which starting was delayed for fog, Dhaka Metro team lost two quick wickets for 58 runs in 18.5 overs, but a 98-run 3rd wicket partnership by opener Shadman Islam and two down Marshall Ayub carried the team total to a respectable position.Shadman Islam contributed the team highest 75 runs off 121 deliveries featuring eleven fours and two sixes, Marshall Ayub scored 54-ball 67 runs also with eleven fours and two sixes, former national captain Mohammad Ashraful amd Mehrab Hossain Junior were in batting with 22 runs each.National coloured spinner taijul Islam grabbed three wickets for 67 runs while national pacer Shafiul Islam took one for 46 runs.In the day’s other Tier-2 league match at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Chittagong Division were all out for 215 runs in 76.5 overs in the first innings against hosts Sylhet Division on the first day of the four-day 6th and last round match on Wednesday.Middle order batsman Yasir Ali hammered the team highest 81 runs off 136 balls hitting 12 boundaries, opener Sadikur Rahman scored 42-bal 46 runs with seven fours, Tasamul haque made 60-ball 38 runs with six fours while Sayeed Sarker scored 80-ball 13 runs with twio fours, were main contributors for Chittagong reaching the double figures.Abul Hasan and Enamul Haque Jr captured three wickets each conceding 34 and 44 runs respectively while Abu Jayed took two for 58 runs.In reply, Sylhet Division opened the first inning in the later afternoon and lost three wickets for 54 runs in 18.1 overs with Sayem Alam and Rajin Saleh were in batting with 16 and 4 runs respectively.Imtiaz Hossain (19) and Shanaj Ahmed (10) were the other contributors for Sylhet Division.
