NKC hosts WildHour on Conservation of Hoolock Gibbon

A WildHour on Ecology and Conservation of Hoolock Gibbon in North East Bangladesh, was arranged by the leading conservation learning hub, Noazesh Knowledge Centre (NKC) of WildTeam, at Cosmos Centre in the city’s Malibagh area on Friday.

A total of 17 participants who are mostly university teachers, students and conservation professionals joined the event, said a press release. Sufia Akter Neha, Hoolock Gibbon researcher and conservationist, was the key speaker at the event. She shared her research on Hoolock Gibbon, research findings, conservation needs and strategy for this critically endangered species. Participants also showed their enthusiasm to know more about gibbon by asking questions.

Prof Dr Md Anwarul Islam, General Secretary of WildTeam, made the closing remarks when he shared his Hoolock Gibbon conservation experiences, and encouraged the participants to conservation learning.The prize giving session of NKC’s online photography contest themed ‘Bird’ was also held at the WildHour event. There were four winners who received crests, and they appreciated NKC’s such initiative.
