NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio attends Asian-Pacific Heritage reception

New York – Mayor Bill de Blasio delivered an address at the Asian Americans and Pacific Islander program 2017 last week in New York city. Asian American and Pacific Islender celebrated its heritage at Gracie Mansion. Many national and international leaders including City Council Members, Attorney General, City Officials, Asian Community Leaders, Organizers, Scientist, Senior Police Officials, National International Media Personal including Editor of Weekly Bengali Kowshik Ahmed, Journalist Mohammed Shakhawat Hossain Salim, Community Board Member from Bronx Mohammad N. Mujumder, Community Leader Abdur Rahim Badsha, Abdus Shahaid, President & CEO of Saco America Mohammad Mahab, President and CEO of Mamun’s Tutorial Sheikh Al Mamun, President and CEO of Khan’s Tutorial Dr. Evan Khan, Community Activist Saleh Ahmed, Shamim Mia, Mahbub Alam, A Islam Mamun, Shahed Ahmed, Monzur Chowdhury, Nazrul Haque, Monzur Chowdhury Joglul, Osman Chowdhury, Taybur Rahman Harun, Almas Ali, ASAAL National Vice President Eng Ahsanul Haque, Brooklyn Community Board 12 Member Mamnunul Haque and many others were present at the opening.
The program started as per schedule. 6:30 pm. The Honorable NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio gave a special speech on behalf of Asian American Heritage. Mayor Bill de Blasio stated that he was very proud being at the programme and said, ‘I want to thank Nisha Agarwal for introducing me, but more importantly, I want to thank her for all she has done for this city, with the extraordinary effort, among other things, to create our municipal identification program – our IDNYC – which has made a huge difference already for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers.
Let’s thank Nisha Agarwal for all she does. Obviously, the Asian American Community is one of our fastest-growing communities. And we know that this community has been a symbol of what’s possible here in this city and in this country, a symbol of the power of inclusion and economic opportunity and what it does for so many people.
And we are going to continue to strengthen that ability to give opportunity to so many New Yorkers and mentions people of New York City by celebrating and recognizing the diverse culture, unique heritage, and distinct identities that make NYC the epicenter of the world.
