Bangladeshi rock band Obscure is all set to release their 13th album “Titor Shadhinota” on Pahela Boishakh, the first day of the Bangla calendar. The news was confirmed by Obscure frontman Said Hasan Tipu in a recent press release.
Said Hasan Tipu also said in the release: “Obscure is regularly working on the light-bearers of our nation. In continuation of that in this album we made a song about the teenage freedom fighter Tito.”
“Shahid Golam Dastagir participated in the 1971 Liberation War in response to the call of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On December 14, 1971—just two days before the liberation of the country—during an operation under the leadership of Commander Nasiruddin Yusuf Bachchu in Kalma village of Savar area, Tito was martyred by the Pakistani force at the age of 14. Nasiruddin Yusuf Bachchu even wrote a book titled “Titor Shadhinota,” added Tipu.
He confirmed that a track from this album titled “Surer Borputra” will be dedicated to Altaf Mahmud, a musician, cultural activist, and martyred freedom fighter of the Bangladesh Liberation War.
The album boasts eight tracks: “Titor Shadhinota,” “Jao Niye Jao,” “Rangeen Saree,” “Nostalgia,” “Amar Kisher Bhoy,” “Dukkho Tomar Joto,” “Niruddesh,” “Surer Borputra.”
The tracks were written by poet Mohadeb Saha, Lutfar Rahman Riton, Milton Hasnat, Amit Goswami, Sonia Snigdha, and Mahmud Akash.
The audio of the album was mixed & mastered by Azam Babu.
The album will be jointly released on the official YouTube channels of G-Series and Obscure. “Titor Shadhinota” can also be found in CD format published under the G-Series record label.
Moreover, Obscure was formed in Khulna in 1985 and is considered to be among the pioneers of pop rock. The band incorporates folk, blues, rock, funk, pop, reggae and Latin elements. They released their 12th album “Stop Genocide” on December 2017.
