The house of Oikyafront candidate for Brahmanbaria-3 constituency Engineer Khaled Hossain Mahbub Shyamol was torched reportedly by activists of local Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Puniaut in the district town during voting in the 11th national election on Sunday.
Witnesses said a chase and counter-chase took place between the BCL activists and supporters of Khaled in the area around 11:15 am.At one stage, the BCL men attacked the three-storey house of Khaled and threw over 50 crude bombs at it. Later, they set fire to the house.The fire burned the house along with two microbuses parked in front of it.On information, a firefighting unit went to the spot and extinguished the blaze.
