A sexagenarian woman, who sustained burn injuries with seven other family members at a house in Narayanganj early Sunday, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
The deceased was identified as Nurjahan Begum, 60.
DMCH police outpost inspector Bachchu Miah said two of the injured, including Nurjahan, were shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where she died around 11am.
The eight family members suffered burn injuries as the entire house in the ground floor of a five-storey building caught fire around 5:30am while the family members tried to light the stove.
Mohammad Shahjahan, senior station officer of Adamjee Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the fire broke out as gas accumulated following switching off the gas stove for whole night.
