A total of 5,303 among 8,544 infected policemen recovered from coronavirus as of Saturday.
“Among the total infected, 2,064 policemen are attached to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) alone,” said sources at the Police Headquarters.
Meanwhile, 3,175 policemen were sent to isolation and 8,237 were put in quarantine, said the sources.So far, 27 cops and a civilian member of the law enforcement agency died of Covid-19 till date, the sources added.
However, the sources said that most of the policemen, who have recovered, have already joined their respective duty stations.Bangladesh has so far reported 108,775 coronavirus cases and 1,425 deaths.
The health authorities on Saturday reported 3,240 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours until Saturday morning and 37 deaths during this time.
