Munshiganj – Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Sunday said the much-hyped Padma Bridge is now a visible reality as all uncertainties over the bridge have been removed.
He came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after visiting different projects of the bridge at Mawa of the district and Pachchar of Madaripur.Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan, Water Resources Minister Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Segufta Yeasmin Emily MP, Shipping Secretary Delwar Hossain and Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority chairman Md Samsuddoha Khandoker were, among others, present.
Earlier, three ministers inspected the surrounding areas of the Mawa Ferryghat by a BIWTA ship to choose new location for the ghat.
They also held a meeting where a decision was taken that new location of Mawa Ferryghat will be finalised at an inter-ministerial meeting of the Communications Ministry on February 27. – UNB
