Pankaj holds talks with AL, BNP leaders

Indian High Commissioner Pankaj Saran had separate meetings with leaders of ruling Awami League and main opposition BNP.BNP chairperson’s advisory council members Riaz Rahman and Sabih Uddin Ahmed met with the Indian envoy at city hotel on Thursday evening.

Later, the envoy had meeting with some senior leaders of AL-led grand alliance at his Gulshan residence in city from 8:15 pm to 10:00pm, meeting sources said.

They are– senior AL leader Tofael Ahmed, PM’s finace adviser Moshiur Rahman, AL presidium member Nuh Alam Lenin, Workers Party president Rashed Khan Menon.

No leader of the parties could be contacted for their comments about the issues discussed in the meetings.

Diplomats have been quite active from last year over present political situation of the country, next general elections and trial of crimes against humanity.

Diplomats of internationally influential countries sat with political leaders of Bangladesh several times over the issues.
