Dhaka, Aug 23: Two people, including a pickup van driver, were killed when a covered van hit a pickup van in Dhaka’s Dhamrai on Sunday morning. Another two were also injured in the accident that took place at 10 am in Daotia area on the Dhaka-Aricha highway.
Deceased Abdul Helal, 64, was a vegetable trader, a resident of Koitta Borundi village under Saturia Thana of Manikganj.
Vegetable trader Abdur Rahman said the covered van hit the vegetable-laden pickup van from behind, leaving Abdul Helal dead on the scene and three others injured.
They were rushed to Dhamrai Government Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared the pickup van driver dead.
