PM Hasina off to Tokyo on first leg of tri-nation tour

Dhaka, May 27 (UNB) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Monday evening.

The Prime Minister arrived at the presidential palace around 8pm when President Abdul Hamid and his wife Rashida Khanom received her with a bouquet.

During the meeting, Abdul Hamid and Sheikh Hasina enquired about each other’s health condition, said President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin.

The Prime Minister also exchanged Eid greetings in advance and handed over an Eid card to the President as she will not be able to stay in the country during Eid-ul-Fitr due to her foreign tours.

She also informed the President of her tri-national tour to Japan, Saudi Arabia and Finland.

The Prime Minister will leave here for Tokyo on Tuesday morning on the 12-day tri-nation visit.

A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage will depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:55am.
