Dhaka- Prominent Bangladesh’s golfer Siddikur Rahman shared 33rd slot in the €2,000,000 Porsche European Open after the first round at the Green Eagle Golf Courses, Hamburg in Germany on Thursday.The two-time Asian Tour winner and the only Bangladesh’s participant in the prestigious European event, Siddikur carded two-under-par 70 on day one, taking four shots more than the leader Julian Suri of the USA.The topper of the leaderboard Julian Suri traded seven sweet birdies against one bogey in the 1st round on his way to six-under-par 66.Siddikur blitz on four birdies against one bogey in the first nine, but disfavoured by two more bogies against a birdie on the conclusion of round one.The 32-year-old birdied to put the 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 9th and 11th holes. He bogied in the 5th, 13th and 15th holes to share the 33rd slot with 16 other golfers.The 394th world ranked, Siddikur is sharp around the greens and played his best on the European Tour finishing a runner-up at the 2016 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. He is the first Bangladesh’s golfer qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio.In his recent international competitive game, Siddikur finished 15th jointly in the Queen’s Cup in Thailand in June last.UNB news agency
