Practice match: Red team beat Green team by 4 wkts

Dhaka – BCB Red team made a good start in the four-match one-day practice series ahead of Emerging Teams Asia Cup Cricket beating BCB Green team by four wickets in the first match at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Thursday.National ODI and T20 captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza-led BCB Green team batted first and were all out for 211 runs in 47.1 overs with middle order batsman Zakir Hasan making the team highest 57 runs off 80 balls, featuring four fours and one six.UNB agencyBesides, tail-ender Nayem Islam Jr (33), opener Azmir Ahmed (29), Salman Hossain (25), lower order Rahatul Ferdous (not out 19) and captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (19) were other major contributors for the Green team.Mehedi Hasan, Abu Hayder Rony and Abul Hasan claimed two wickets each conceding 15, 40 and 42 runs respectively.In reply, national all rounder Nasir Hossain-led BCB Red team easily reached their target scoring 214 for 6 in 37.3 overs.Opener Saif Hasan made 62 off 66 balls hitting seven fours and two sixes while captain Nasir Hossain contributed not out 52 off 69 balls with six boundaries.Opener Afif Hossain (27) and lower order Sanjamul Islam (not out 24) were the other main scorers for Red team.Khaled Ahmed and Ebadul Haque grabbed two wickets each giving away 26 and 46 runs respectively.The two teams will face each in the 2nd match at the same venue on Saturday.
