Preliminary report on power blackout likely Wednesday

The 8-member probe committee was formed to investigate into the national power grid failure on Saturday last is expected to submit its primary report to the power ministry Wednesday.
“We’ll submit primary inquiry report on the national power grid failure to the authorities concerned tomorrow,” said power division additional secretary Md Kaikawas, head of the committee.Talking to journalists after visiting the 500-megawatt high voltage Bangladesh-India back to back Bheramara sub-station today, Kaikawas described the national power grid failure as a national disaster and said the committee is trying to unearth the reasons behind such a power disaster.
The members of the committee reached the sub-station office at 11am and went round the control room and other different departments of the station at Ramakrishnapur in Bheramara.
Executive secretary of Bangladesh-India back to back Bheramara sub-station Alamgir Hossain was present during the visit.
On November 1, the national power grid suffered a breakdown at around 11:30 am following a major technical glitch putting the entire country out of electricity for over 12hours. – BSS
