Premier cricket: Prime Bank outclass Brothers

Dhaka – Prime Bank Cricket Club won a high-scoring match against Brothers Union by five wickets on Saturday in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.
It was Prime Bank’s fifth consecutive and sixth overall win. On the other hand, Brothers suffered their fifth loss in seven matches of the league so far.

Sent to bat first, Brothers posted a massive 330 for two wickets, thanks to brilliant centuries by Mizanur Rahman and Fazle Mahmud at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Brothers lost their first wicket in 10 runs, but they had a massive second-wicket partnership of 193 between Mizanur and Mahmud. Miazanur fell for 100 off 109 deliveries but Mahmud remained unbeaten for 140 off 147 balls.

In the third wicket stand, Mahmud and Yasir Ali added 127. Yasir scored 61 off 37 balls.
 Prime Bank skipper Anamul hit a half-century to give his side a solid start despite losing his opening partner Salman Hossain for 13.
 In the second-wicket stand, Anamul and Easwaran posted 81 runs before Anamul got out for 54. In the third-wicket stand, Easwaran and Al-Amin added 79 runs. But Al-Amin fell for 52.

Easwaran paired with former Bangladesh star Alok Kapali to added 101 runs in the fourth-wicket. Easwaran fell for 90 when Prime Bank needed 57 more runs to win.

Alok, the right-handed batsman, carried his side to victory with Nahidul Islam. He remained unbeaten at 82 off 65 deliveries. Nahidul scored an unbeaten 23 runs off 25 balls.

Prime Bank reached the target (331 in 48.5 overs) losing five wickets.
 For Brothers, Sajedul Islam took three wickets conceding 70 runs. National team pacer Ebadat Hossain disappointed as he bowled seven overs and conceded 56 with no wicket. Mohammad Sharif and Naeem Islam Jr were the other bowlers to take one wicket each for them.UNB
