Premier Cricket: Prime Bank, Prime Doleshwar register win

Dhaka – Prime Bank Cricket Club and Prime Doleshwar Sporting earned victories in their respective matches of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) at different venues on Saturday.

Prime Bank beat Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity by two wickets at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium while Prime Doleshwar outplayed Shinepukur Cricket Club by nine wickets at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.

Shinepukur set a target of 176 for Prime Doleshwar in Fatullah in 47.1 over, which Doleshwar chased down in 32.5 overs.

While chasing, Doleshwar lost the wicket of Shykat Ali in 57 runs. But they managed to score the remaining runs without losing any wicket. Saif Hassan and Farhad Hossain remained unbeaten on 60 and 40 respectively.

Earlier, Shinepukur tumbled for 175 all-out in 47.1 overs. Most of their batsmen failed to capitalise a good start. They lost the first wicket in six runs when opener Suhrawardi Shuvo fell prey to Arafat Sunny for five.

In the second wicket stand, they posted 42 runs. Sabbir Hossain was the second man to get dismissed for Shinepukur. He scored 31 runs off 31 balls.

Towhid Hridoy and Delwar Hossain were the other batsmen to post more than 30 runs. Towhid posted 33 while Delwar scored 40 coming to bat at number eight.

Farhad Reza, the best all-rounder of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League T20, took three wickets for Prime Doleshwar while Arafat Sunny bagged two wickets for them.

In the other match, Khelaghar posted 195 all-out while batting first against Prime Bank, who chased it in 47 overs (196/8).

Rubel Mia was the best scorer for Prime Bank as he struck 46 while opening the innings with captain Anamul Haque (37).

Along with them, Ariful Haque (32*) and Nahidul Islam (31) were the most successful batsman for them.

Irfan Hossain took three wickets for Khelaghar while Robiul Haque took two for them.

Earlier, Khelaghar posted 195 runs while batting first in the match with the help of Amit Majumder (36), Ashok Menaria (35) and the captain Nazimuddin (29). Besides them, Robiul Islam Robi (16), Mosaddek Iftekhar (19), Masum Khan (17) and Robiul Haque (14) contributed with the bat as well.

Right-arm pacer Ariful Haque was the best bowler for Prime Bank as he scalped four wickets conceding 32 runs in seven overs while leg-spinner Alok Kapali bagged three wickets.UNB
