Dhaka – Title aspirant Abahani Limited lost important points in the Green Delta Insurance Metropolis Premier Division Hockey League as their 4th match with Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club ended in 3-3 draw at Maulana Bhashani National Stadium here on
Wednesday.With the maiden draw, Pakistani players studded Abahani Limited went down in the race securing 10 points from four matches while Mariner Youngs bagged four points from three matches. Usha KC dominated the league securing full 12 points from four encounters,AP/UNB News Reported.In the day’s match, Raju Ahmed put Mariner Youngs ahead in the 7th minute by a field goal (1-0) while Rumman Sarker leveled the margin for Abahani, also by a field goal in the 14th minute (1-1).Pakistani players Shafqat Rasool and Mohammad Irfan scored two more field goals for Abahani in the 30th and 49th minutes (3-1).Mamunur Rahman and Arshad Hossain scored two quick goals for Mariner Youngs in the 64th and 69th minutes respectively to settle for a draw with the frustration of Abahani fans.Earlier in the day’s first match, Sonali Bank SRC crushed lowly Bangladesh Railway by 11-0 goals at the same venue.Ihsanullah Khan struck four goals, all from penalty corners, Tousif Ahmed scored two field goals while Ajit, Taher Ali, Roki, Yasir Islam and Irfan netted one goal each for the bankers team.
