Dhaka- Defending champions Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club and Dhaka Abahani Limited won their respective super-five matches of the Green Delta Insurance Metropolis Premier Division Hockey League at Maulana Bhashani National Stadium on Saturday.After the day’s matches, both the Dhaka Abahani Ltd and Mariner Youngs Club have secured 33 points each playing 13 and 12 matches respectively while Dhaka Mohammedan SC dominated the league with all win record securing full 36 points from straight 12 matches.
Dhaka Abahani Limited, which made good start in the super league outplaying Sonali Bank Club by 4-0 goals on Friday, Saturday earned their 2nd consecutive victory in the super-five league outplaying Ajax Sporting Club by 7-2 goals.
Tajuddin Ahmed, Roman Sarkar and Ashraful Islam struck two goals each while Mohammad Mohsin netted the other goal for the popular sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani.
Harmandeep Singh and Rahat Sarwar scored one each for the Ajax SC.
In the day’s other match, holders Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club managed a comfortable 6-1 goals victory over Sonali Bank Club.
Hasan Jubair Neloy struck two while Mohammad Julhairy, Farhad Ahmed Setul and Ashraf Sayed scored one each for the winners while Deen Islam Emon netted the consolation goal for the losers.UNB
