Premier Hockey: Mohammedan upset Usha by 5-3 goals

Dhaka – A brilliant hat-trick by national coloured forward Rasel Mahmud Jimmi enabled Dhaka Mohammedan SC to beat title
aspirant Usha KC by 5-3 goals in the Green Delta Premier Division Hockey League at Moulana Bhashani National Stadium here on Wednesday.Mohammedan led the first half by 3-1 goals.Rasel Mahmud Jimmi made a hat-trick in the match scoring all the five field goals for the black and white Mohammedans in the 3rd, 29th, 31st, 42nd and 61st minutes while Pakistani Aleem Belal also made a hat-trick scoring all the three goals for Usha KC in the 25th, 37th and 69th minutes, all from penalty corners.Despite the day’s shocking defeat, Usha KC are still in the title race securing 38 points from 15 matches and needed an outright victory over Mariner Youngs Club in the last super league match on Friday to clinch the title.Mohammedan SC, which are already out of the title race, improved their position collecting 32 points from 15 league engagements.Mariner Youngs Club top the league table securing 40 points from 15 encounters and require a draw against Usha KC in the last league match on Friday.In the day’s other match, Dhaka Abahani Limited outplayed Bangladesh Sporting Club by 6-2 goals after leading the first half by 5-1 goals at the same venue.Sheikh Mohammad Nannu struck two, Pakistani Kasif Ali and Shakeel
