Problems should be resolved thru peaceful talks: Dipu

Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Friday said the political problems of the country should be resolved through peaceful talks within the framework of the Constitution.   “There might be problems and disagreements. Representatives of all parties should sit together at any place to resolve the problems and disagreements,” she said.
Dipu Moni, however, said discussions will have to be held and problems resolved within the framework of the Constitution.   She made the remarks while talking to journalists after a women’s rally at Gazirhat Govt Primary School Ground in Kallyanpur union of the district. The local unit of the Awami League arranged rally.   The Foreign Minister said Bangladesh’s position has been strengthened and the country will move forward with the pace of progress.
“All will have to be alert to resist those who want to destroy the democracy and push the country backwards.” Addressing the women’s rally, Dipu Moni, who is also the AL joint general secretary, alleged that the supporters of the previous BNP-Jamaat government set fire to the houses of Awami League supporters and even had thrown away the kids from mother’s lap to ponds.
“The development work that I have done here will continue in the coming days. Give me an opportunity to work for you again by voting for boat and me,” she added.   Local AL leaders also spoke at the rally chaired by Sadar upazilla AL president Nurul Islam Nazim Dewan. -UNB
