Rajshahi, Dec 24 – Prof. Md Younus Day was observed at Rajshahi University (RU) with due solemnity on Tuesday.Prof. Md Younus, who was one of the organizers of Liberation War of Bangladesh and Former Registrar of the university, was brutally killed on 24 December 2004 by some perpetrators.
On the occasion, University Vice-chancellor Professor M Abdus Sobhan, Pro-vice Chancellor Ananda Kumar Saha, Pro-vice Chancellor Chowdhury Mohammad Zakaria , teachers, officers and officials of the university placed a floral wreath at the Prof. Younus killing spot.
After placing the floral wreath they observed one minute’s silence and prayed for his departed soul.
Earlier, they brought a mourning-procession on the campus which stared from the Senate Bhaban of the university and terminated at the carnage spot. – RU Correspondent
