Qatar has shown interest to recruit about three lakh overseas jobseekers from Bangladesh over the next two years.Qatar Administrative Development and Labour and Social Affairs Minister Issa Saad Al-Jafali Al-Nuaimi said this at a bilateral meeting with the visiting Bangladesh delegation, headed by Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Development Minister Nurul Islam in Doha.To move ahead with the goal, a joint-working group will meet in Dhaka in the first week of March, said a message received here on Wednesday.
The Gulf country has been recruiting construction and cleaning workers from Bangladesh in recent times, whereas the authorities there are now keen in recruiting salesmen, nurses, doctors, engineers and office employees from the country, the release added.Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam is now on a three-day visit to Qatar. He will pay a courtesy call on Qatar Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani on Thursday.
