DHAKA – Quamrunnahar of Bangladesh Ansar and Swapna Akter of Bangladesh Navy won gold in the women’s individual event of the Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games held today at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in the city’s Mirpur.
Quamrunnahar secured gold in epee event while Swapna won the gold in foil event. Quamrunnahar beat her teammate Asma Aktar by 15-11 points in the epee final while Rabeya Akter and Munni Begum of the same team secured the bronze medals.
On the other hand, Swapna beat her teammate Sanjida Akter by 15-6 points in the foil event final. Mohima and Nazira of the same team bagged the bronze medals.BSS
