Rain forces Bangladesh, NZ XI match to end in draw

Dhaka – The lone two-day practice match of Bangladesh against New Zealand XI ahead of Test series ended in a draw due to rain at Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln on Sunday.

On the second day, New Zealand XI scored 57 runs in 12 overs for two wickets. Right after that, the persistent rain forced to end the match with a draw.

New Zealand XI lost their first wicket with just one run on the board. However, Andrew Fletcher scored 43 off 32 deliveries and Bharat Popil remained not-out for 12.
 Mustafizur Rahman and Ebadat Hossain took one wicket each for the Tigers.

Earlier in the first innings, Bangladesh accumulated 411 for six wickets in 96.1 overs.

Shadman Islam, the left-handed opener of the Tigers, hit 67 for the team which has remained as the highest individual score for the team.
 Along with Shadman, Liton Das (62), Mahmudullah Riayd (59) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (52) also struck the half-centuries for Bangladesh.
 The first Test of three-match series will take the field on Feb 28 at Hamilton while the remaining matches will be played on March 8 and 16 at Wellington and Christchurch respectively.UNB
